After the appointment of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809.
After the departure of Rodgers, Sinclair is expected to also head towards an exit especially since his existing contract expires at the end of next season. Talks over a possible new contract came to a halt after Rodgers’ departure but are expected to continue now that Laudrup has taken over.
According to the chairman of the club, Swansea City were determined to retain the services of Sinclair past next summer. They were hoping the 23-year-old would sign a new contract that would keep him at the club in the upcoming seasons.
The Swansea City chairman said in an interview:
“Scott's position was delayed somewhat until we appointed a new manager. I think that was important, to make sure the new manager had a chance to speak to Scott himself, whatever we decided to do.
Whether you put him on a long contract or not, I think it should be a joint process to make sure the manager is fully involved. And over the next few weeks, prior to the start of pre-season, we'll sit down with Scott and discuss his feelings.”
He admitted there was a possibility of Sinclair not agreeing to sign another contract with the side, but felt that it was necessary for the new manager to speak to him. The club’s chairman revealed he had already had talks with Sinclair before the departure of Rodgers but would hold further talks in the upcoming days.
He continued:
“I spoke to Scott and his agent prior to Brendan leaving.
Scott was waiting to see who we appointed as manager, and then to speak to the manager.”
Sinclair signed with Swansea City in the summer of 2010 from English Premier League giants Chelsea after being linked with a move to Blackpool. He made 22 appearances last season in all competitions and scored seven goals.
