Influential Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm has labelled Liverpool a one-man team, claiming that Kenny Dalglish’s men are hugely dependent on Luis Suarez.
Swansea hugely impressed on their visit to Anfield in the recent Premier League fixture. The Premier League newcomers gave an outstanding defensive performance and kept a clean sheet to earn a point against Liverpool.
The Swans goalkeeper, Vorm, who was named Man of the Match for keeping the Reds at bay, believes that the Merseyside club are hugely dependent on Suarez.
The Uruguayan striker made an impressive start to life at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and has become a crucial member of Dalglish’s squad. The 24-year-old is the club’s top goal scorer and has already been named Liverpool’s Player of the Month three consecutive times.
However, Suarez failed to inspire Liverpool to a second successive league victory while playing against Swansea at Anfield.
The Dutch goalkeeper said, “Maybe they rely too much on Suarez. He is a player with incredible qualities, world class, and I've played a lot of times against him in Holland.”
Vorm has hailed the qualities of the Uruguayan attacker as the Dutchman believes that Suarez is one of the best strikers in the world.
Vorm revealed that Swansea were completely aware of Suarez’s extraordinary qualities in the final third and the Dutch goalkeeper has hailed the defensive performance of his teammates, who managed to keep the Uruguayan striker at bay for the whole 90 minutes.
The Dutch international has claimed that Liverpool were out of ideas after Suarez failed to make much of an impression.
Vorm told the reporters, "He is a player who can make a difference. But against us he didn't, and they didn't score. Maybe because we kept him quiet they didn't have other options. We did our homework and worked hard to deny him the chances."
Vorm and Suarez have played against each other while playing for Utrecht and Ajax respectively in Dutch Eredivisie. The Dutch keeper has conceded against the Uruguayan striker in the past and Vorm revealed that he warned Suarez before the start of the match
that he would find it hard to score this time around.
"Suarez has scored a few goals against me, so it is funny to see him again. I was telling him I was going to stop him,” Vorm concluded.
