Swansea City have turned down the reports and surmises linking manager Brendan Rodgers with the management http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Anfield and revealed that the club have received no formal request from Liverpool.
The 39-year old Irishman, who has so far done a remarkable job with the Welsh side, reportedly drew interest from the Reds following Kenny Dalglish’s departure, who are believed to be weighing up his candidature for the unfilled managerial seat at Anfield.
However, Swansea unravelled that despite the speculations and rumours doing the rounds in the media circle related to their manager, their position on the matter has not changed and that no formal approach has been made by the Merseyside club as yet.
The Welsh outfit issued a statement on their official website, “We would like to clarify the speculation in the press surrounding our manager Brendan Rodgers.”
“We would like to confirm that there has been no contact from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and nothing has changed since our previous statement on the issue.”
Rodgers was appointed as the manager by Swansea in July 2010 at a time when the Welsh club was battling in the Championship. He steered the Swans to the Championship’s end of season play off under his tutelage, and helped them secure a return to the Premier
League by beating Reading 4-2 in the final at Wembley. In total, he managed the club in 96 matches in all competitions and boosts an impressive 44.79 percent win record.
Upon their return to the top division, the Swans took everyone by surprise and won the plaudits of many with their fluent passing football, which has become a trademark of their game. They finished the 2011/12 season at the eleventh spot and got the better

Nevertheless, the club admitted that they did receive a request from Liverpool seeking permission to hold talks with the Irishman. However, the adjuration was declined by Rodgers, who expressed his unwillingness to take over the management job at Anfield.
The statement read, “Swansea City can confirm that an approach from Liverpool FC to speak to manager Brendan Rodgers was officially received by club chairman Huw Jenkins this morning.”
“The club is pleased to confirm that Brendan has declined the current opportunity to speak to the Anfield club about the vacant position.”
The club also revealed that the former Reading boss is currently thriving to strengthen the squad even further, and vowed his commitment to guide the Swans to an even higher finish in the coming Premier League season.
