Swansea City have signed Pablo Hernandez form http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 on a three-year deal, the Welsh club have confirmed.
The Swans boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup, was keen on claiming the signature of the Spanish International this summer, and saw his earlier two bids for the winger get spurned by the La Liga outfit.
However, the Premier League club finally managed to pull off the deal, after Valencia agreed to let go of the 27-year old for an estimated transfer fee of 5.5 million pounds.
The deal puts him at the second place in the list of the Swans most expensive signings to date, behind Ki Sung-Yueng, who also arrived at the Liberty Stadium from Celtic FC this summer.
With the Swans set to lose out on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scott-Sinclair-c32675 to Manchester City, Hernandez’s inclusion in the squad will serve to lift the morale of the Dane, who has already seen his new-look side get their campaign off to a flyer.
Earlier, the winger had also played under Laudrup at Getafe during the 2007/08 season, and was believed to be keen on rejoining with the Dane at the Liberty Stadium.
All in all, he has capped 220 club appearances, scored 36 goals and also picked up 36 assists.
The player will now discuss his personal terms with the Welsh club and undergo a medical examination on Friday.
While talking to the reporters about Hernandez’s acquisition, the 48-year old insisted that the forward will bring extra value to the team, and the Swans can make use of his experience of being a part one of the best teams in Spain.
“I managed Pablo in Getafe, he did fantastic for us. He did so well and went back to Valencia, who are the equivalent in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 over here… I am getting a player who only wanted to come here and play for us and that's great,” he said.
“He specifically wanted to come here. The other players who have come here have come from smaller clubs, and here is a player from the third biggest club in Spain and he wants to come here. It is great for us.”
The manager then went on to offer his best wishes to Scott Sinclair, as he begins his career at Eastlands, and believed he will face a tough fight to secure a place in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s starting unit.
