Swansea manager, Brendan Rodgers, has revealed that he is planning to strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window to prepare for their upcoming campaign in the Barclays Premier League. Swansea recently secured a position in the English top flight
with their win over Reading in the play-off final at Wembley on Monday. The Swans won the match 4-2.
Scott Sinclair was the man who ensured his side’s place in the Premier League next season. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 man opened the scoring with a well taken penalty in the 21st minute. He then doubled his tally with a close range finish just a minute
later. Stephen Dobbie added a third just before half time to put the Swans firmly in the driving seat.
Reading fought back valiantly in the second-half, scoring two goals in quick succession to give travelling fans hope of an astounding comeback. However, their Premier League dream was shattered by Scott Sinclair, who scored from the penalty spot in the 80th minute
to secure Swansea’s promotion to the top flight.
The Swans manager, Brendan Rodgers, hailed the performance of the former Chelsea man, saying, “He’s an incredible penalty-taker. I know Scott from the period I worked with him before. I knew Scott was a specialist and, once we missed a few, I nominated him
to do that. “
He added, “To score a hat-trick in a game of this magnitude is fantastic. He has been unplayable a lot of times this season. He will always be a threat even when he is quiet in a game.
Rodgers is already looking forward to his side’s upcoming Premier League journey, and he has made plans on how he intends to make their stay in the top flight permanent.
Speaking after the final at Wembley, he said, “I want to give the payers here a chance but we need to strengthen as well. There is no doubt we need to strengthen. We want to fight to keep everybody here and bring in a number of players to add to it.”
