Question:

Swap engine and trans parts from 92' Honda Accord to 94'

I have a 92' Honda Accord that runs great but has no title (believe it or not it came with my house), and there's no way of getting one. Now my neighbor has a 94' Honda Accord which his wife beat to h**l, and now I want to try and get rid of as much of the 92' as possible so I can scrap the rest. Everything looks like it will match up, but I've done enough work to know looks can be deceiving. Any help thanks.

Engines are both 1.8L, trans are both 5 speed manuals.

  1. The 92 accord doesn't have VTEC, and it's OBD I.  The 94 accord is a vtec engine with OBD II.  You're going to have a nightmare of a time trying to convert from OBD 2 to 1.  Not to mention that it's illegal to put an older engine into a newer-year shell.

Perhaps the 92 accord was stolen?  How can it not be in the DMV's system?  Perhaps you can part out the car and sell it for parts.

  2. yes engine and transmission parts are interchangeable. both cars are obd 1, obd 2 started in 96.
