Swarm of Scarabs+locust play question?

Question

Does swarm of scarabs effect activates if my opponent attacks it face down? I'm guessing no because it doesn't have "flip" in description.

Also can I flip summon it during my main phase 1 then flip it face down in my main phase 2?

Well, your guess is right about the first one, you cannot activate Swarm of Scarabs' effect if it is attacked face down, since it has to be "Flipped Summoned". You cannot flip it face down in the same turn that you flip summon it, you must wait until the next turn after you flip summoned it, that is the official ruling of the card.

You can flip this card into face-down Defense Position once per turn during your Main Phase. When this card is Flip Summoned, destroy 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field.

Pros: During any of your Main Phases you can flip this card face-down. It's small itself and good in weenie Type decks. It does well when its protected. You can keep reusing the effect more than once. All you have to do is put the card face down, then Main Phase one flip this card and destroy a monster. Then during the same Main Phase, or Main Phase two flip this card face-down.

Cons: This card is susceptible to Ceasefire, Scientist, Crossout, and other cards that hurt face-down monsters. This card must be flip summoned for its effect to work, nothing else can be done that allows you to use the effect.

So you can flip Swarm of Scarabs or locust face down once per turn, you have two main phases, it dosen't say which one you can do it in right? So this makes sence.
