Question:

Sweating question, any insights?

I have a problem with profuse sweating, and the odor is sometimes stronger. But it comes and goes. I could have the problem for a few weeks, then it goes away for a few months or a couple years. It has no correlation to activity level or temperature, or diet or anything else I can think of. I can just be sitting in a 73 degree room, sweating.

So, any ideas on the cause? And what to do about it? I've tried all the deodorants, nothing helps, and some brands actually seem to make the problem worse. A few years ago, I got a prescription deodorant that completely stopped underarm perspiration, is that the only way to go?

  1. There are powders you can get in the pharmacy that help with sweating. If it;s in other places other than your armpits. For example the small of your back, under your b*****s or the backs of your knees. It really does help and any ANTI-perspirant should work make sure your not buying just DEODORANT cause that wont stop the sweat just cover it up. I too sweat allot I hate it. I can lay my hand on a table for three minutes and lift it and the table is wet with sweat. It sucks.

  2. go and see the doctor, its sounds like ur body is produceing to much of a hormone.u need blood tests to find out.gudluck

  3. prescription might be the best solution for you if not you can try injecting botox under your arms it stops the sweating

  4. I have this same problem, it could be stress or nerves! I heard if you go to the doctor they can give you a prescription for some strong deodarant

  5. I have the SAMEEEE problem, actually its happening right now lol.

But i think that the deoderant is the only way to go, which sucks, becuase it doesnt work for me either.

Sorry I wish i could help you, well us both!

  6. You may have to either use that deodorant or have your underarms sweat glands cauterized. Are you nervous when this happens? Also you may have some sort of hormonal or chemical imbalance that is causing the sweating see your doctor and have some blood tests done to find out.
