Swedish custodial sentences

Hi there, i was hoping some swedish citizens may be able to answer this one. if someone was given an 18 month prison sentence in sweden and then she left the country, does the sentence remain outstanding forever or does it eventually get deleted?

Under Swedish Law a prison sentence is valid until it has been served and is never wiped off.In a number of cases additions to the original sentence are applied and what was a small sentence becomes larger by default.

They have a system in place where you can,and often do get taken back to court for committing another offence by not completing your original sentence,this can result in a doubling of the original sentence.

The only thing to do is serve the sentence.
