  1. Hard done by the judging is probably a lay down Mazair, but that is life. I say this because this is a sport that relies on subjective judging rather than acctualities like being faster, higher, stronger. speaking of which... Congratulation to Steve Hooker for the Pole vault Gold and olympic record. That was a win on acctual performance, not on a (or plural),judges partial view of a contest.

  2. hhh

  3. The mat-referee who made the call that the Italian wrestler should have the deciding point is cousin with the president of the Italian wrestling associations.

If you look at the video from the game you can see the head referee on the mat signaling for 1 point to Ara, which would have let the game continue, The point was not accepted by the other judges, but the Swedish objections had no effect since two judges had made the same decision.

The judge first explained the decision to give the victory to Minguzzi because Abrahamian blocked his opportunity to "lock grip" (sorry don't know how to translate this). This proved to be wrong. The explanation was then changed to Abrahamian trying to leave the mat. TV replays shows that Abrahamian had one hand out in the blue zone while the Italian had almost his entire body out in the blue zone earlier.

Abrahamian put in a complaint but the IOK refused to review the footage from the match.

On Saturday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport stated that FILA did not act correctly when dealing with Abrahamian's complaint and that he should have been give one more period of the match.
