I love both (the actual shows. the movies, not so much.....) but if I had to pick one  I'd say Sweeney Todd since that is one of my favorite Sondheim works and the story is fantastic and more in depth than Hairspray. Comparing a fun fluff show like Hairspray to the Sondheim thriller of Sweeney is like comparing Oreos to Creme Brule; both yummy, but one is supreme.

Deffo Sweeny Todd, Hairspray is good but it doesn't have a great plot outline, Sweeney Todd is very good, you'll get more out of it :]

i saw Sweeny Todd in theathers and it knocked me out. i fell asleep for the whole movie so did the six other people i was with minus one who is in love with johnny Depp. so i would say hairspray!
