  1. It's a scam.

There is no Portland St. in London.

There is a Little Portland St. and no.15 is an architects office.

There is, also, a Great Portland St. and no.15 is a Barclays Bank!

  2. Yes, You read my mind! I just posted something about this a second ago! Was yours from Leki Reiley too? Yes its a complete scam. I searched  Applegate Sweepstakes Inc. on yahoo and found out others have had this letter sent to them in the past weeks too. You'll win $50000!!! lol complete scam!

  3. Well at least you played a free game of lottery online. I never did and I received prize notification that I won USD50K.  I have received similar notices in the past...which I believe is all scam related.  A clearance fee is required to release the funds and the winner has to come up with the clearance fee.  The address does not exist.

I informed Scotland yard but they replied I should submit the complaint via local police department as they cannot accept complaints via email.  I went to the local police dept and they informed this sort of activity is very common and they would have to set up a whole new department to review and handle these cases and they do not have the budget for it.

So the scam goes on until some gullible people forks over the clearance fee thinking this was legitimate and lose out.
