Sweet 16 spots?

I'm turning 16 in November and want to celebrate in NYC. (I live about an hour away in New Jersey. Really close). Anyway, I want something fancy and low key. I'm thinking of going to a really nice restaurant with my family, friend, and maybe some cousins. I HATE Times Square and all of the touristy areas. My parents are from the city and my dad works there now, but I want to know any hotspots that you like or places to avoid. (They haven't lived there since the 80's so they aren't as in-the-know).I want something really classy and special. Help please!

Vong is one of my favorite spots. The decor is cool and hip, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere depends on the group you are with. I've been on quiet romantic dates there and big, fun group outings.

Calle Ocho is another great spot. The room is magnificent and everyone is there for a fun time.
