Sweet Banana Peppers, why are they turning purple in spots?

Some of my peppers have purple streaks on them. Is this normal?

That's the ripe color of many varieties.

Very they are just ripening. They will turn red if you leave them on the plant. You can pick them anytime.

The purple streaks are sunburn.  

It happens.

Nothing to be concerned about.  Jalapenos tend to do that too.
