Sweet World to taste success in 32Red Casino Handicap at Chepstow
Sweet World is the most interesting candidate in the 32Red Casino Handicap, which is scheduled to take place at Chepstow on Wednesday, May 23rd. The 8-year-old speedy runner recorded a career best over hurdles in
his recent appearance at this venue.
Cheltenham & Three Counties Race Club Handicap Hurdle saw him performing outstandingly all the way through. Under Mr R J Williams, Bernard Llewellyn’s trainee defeated the 9-4 joint favourites, Traditional Bob and Specialagent
Alfie, seizing the top rank by one and a half lengths.
It was Sweet World’s career best performance and he is expected to continue his journey in the same fashion. The B J Llewellyn-owned also has a good track record at Chepstow.
In his previous trip at this venue last season, Sweet World topped the chart by 2¾ lengths in the Lindley Catering Handicap (Div II). Sweet World’s good record in different conditions suggests that he is not a ground-dependent.
Therefore, it will be a right decision to support him in today’s 1m2f36y event.
The maverick gelding is due to face a dozen rivals. Their names are: Ashkalara, Hamilton Hill, Sweet World, Cuckoo Rock, Bold Cross, Phluke, Bernisdale, Taroum, Yourinthewill, Circle Of Angels, Spring Secret, Urban Space and
Lisselan Pleasure.
Ashkalara is another to consider. The 5-year-old is not in winning mood at the moment, but her wonderful Chepstow stats are hard to overlook. In both of her previous races here last season, the bay mare was mighty impressive.
After missing the crown by a head’s distance, she did not panic and demonstrated a classy show in her subsequent appearance in August last year.
Bold Cross, who is 5lb below his last winning mark, is also a strong candidate. The veteran gelding recently showed a lot of promise at Wolverhampton, but remained unlucky, finishing sixth in the Keating Chambers Handicap.
Hamilton Hill unseated his rider last time at Chepstow. The 5-year-old registered his sole win at Yarmouth, where the ground was soft. So, a good surface at Chepstow might not suit him.
Conclusion
Ashkalara’s prior record at Chepstow is indeed quite remarkable, but she was not impressive in her seasonal debut earlier this month. Thus, it is good to support Sweet World, who is full of spirit following a terrific win. Good
luck to everyone.
