Sweet sixteen party ideas ... HELP!

Question

me and my friend are planning our sweet sixteen party together

problem is we don't know what to do

we thought of the beach but we can only do it on weekends and beaches are too busy on the weekend.

we thought of having it in my backyard but it's too small for a game of football and my pool isn't big enough for a lot of people

we thought of paint balling .. too expensive,

bowling we could do but what do we do after?

amusement parks too expensive

a water park or splash pad is too juvenile

i want this party to be the best party of the year, i want everyone to remember it and enjoy themselves, I'm willing to put a lott of work into it but nota lott of money

i've been dreaming of this day since i was 10!

PLESE PLEASE PLEASE HEP ME !!!!!!

I like Susan's idea of the garage band, but here is what my daughter did for her 16. It's not cheap though.  She had a stretch limo with 10 friends and they went to play Lazar Tag.  We had music and cake at the house before they left.  They all had fun ( she invited a boy she was interested in and now they have been dating for 1 1/2 years! )  Happy Birthday to U & your friend

P.S. you could say "no gifts please" and instead ask your friends to pay for their own Lazar Tag.  Just tell them on the invitation how much it will cost.

1)rent a limo and take your friends for a ride

2)then rent a hall

3) rent an awesome DJ,

4) cater amazing food (preferably Italian)

5)  and last but not the least make it a theme such as ballroom, hollywood, masks, or simple one such as pink and black!

TRUST ME YOUR SWEET 16 WILL HAVE A GOOD CHANCE OF BEING ON TV!

ps. and it won't be that expensive as the other suggestions

i turned 16 a few years ago now but for mine we had a water fight. we filled water balloons with coloured water and got everyone to split up into teams. each team would get balloons filled up with a certain colour so at the end u can see who u got. get everyone to  come dressed in white overalls or something like that and bring a change of clothes after. it is so much fun and cheap. we followed that up with a feast of hot dogs, pizza, and a delicious cake and lots of music. im not a very girly girl so it might not be your thing but everyone had so much fun. happy sweet 16!!!

look around for some local kids that have a garage band and just want to play...then have a battle of the bands.

we did that and had a lot of fun> IF you have neighbors close ask around first because of the noise.

You will need snacks and drinks

have some contests..like best 80's costume 90's etc..or maybe a dance contest

If you can't find a band maybe karoke??or is that lame?
