Swendab expecting to post the debut seasonal success through the Wisecall Claims Assistance Handicap
Contesting for the £2,588 prize money of the Class 5 Wisecall Claims Assistance Handicap are eleven three-year and above runners. The race will be held at Sandown over five furlongs and six yards on Friday, 31st August. Not a lot of entries have ended successfully in the most recent outing and neither have they been active at Sandown lately.
One of the well seasoned and most reliable entries for the race today is the four-year-old bay gelding, Swendab. Despite quite a few chances, the Irish bay gelding could not post a success.
His seasonal debut was in the Follow Redcarracing On Facebook & Twitter Handicap on 5th June, 2012 at Redcar over five furlongs. The race was won by the favourite entry, Bosun Breese, by the margin of ¾ of a length. Swendab ended ninth on the track of thirteen while riding with jockey, Graham Lee.
The John O’Shea trained could not improve much even during the second outing of the season, his best rankings through the new season have been a third and then the most recent second position.
Trans Island’s gelding was part of the line-up of the Follow At The Races On Twitter Handicap on 25th July, 2012 at Leicester over five furlongs. He ended third with Luke Morris onboard while the race was won by, Rylee Mooch, by the margin of ¾ of a length.
The four-year-old raced after the leaders, tried making progress when halfway down and made an effort when inside the final furlong, but could not impact the finishing of the leading pair.
The P. Brady bred out of, Lavish Spirit, then ended second in the Matthew Clark Handicap on 23rd August, 2012 at the Bath race course over 5 ½ furlongs. The bay gelding missed the race by a mere head’s margin as Divine Call became the first one through the wire with jockey, Shane Kelly.
Filling in the third position was, Ginzan.
The 11 to 4 entry will be paired up with rider, Kieren Fallon, for the race today, and has drawn the eighth gate to break from.
It is time that he brings into use the experience he has gained through the current campaign.
