Swept for electronic bugs?

Has anyone got any experience with the Police or PIs sweeping a builidng for electronic survillance bugs - how is it done; do they searcy through things or what? How sensitive is the machinery that they use.

  1. It is a device that picks up radio transmitter transmission. It depends on how good the device is expensive. It will have to get wide freq ranges to detect. It is used as a wan and the better the antenna the less need for closer to bug range scanning. When the sound or light goes on, you have to search to find if it's a bug or a calculator..any device with a FCC label can set it off. The swept is based on expense since the bug can be analog or digital....low and high freq. It mainly depends on how good the equipment is.
