Swift Emma, 5 to 1 favourite, bags victory in 450m Grade A1 heat at Poole on Jan 15
Swift Emma, the daughter of Kinloch Brae out of Swift Verse, bagged a convincing victory in the 450 metre long Grade A1 race, taken place at Poole on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
Trained by J R Grant, the black b***h started off her run from the first trap, holding the odds of 5 to 1.
She was chased by, Impact Man, but the rampant b***h eventually sealed the top position by a margin of 1 1/4 lengths. She covered the distance in 26.83 seconds, winning a cash prize of £101.
The second position belonged to Impact Man, the son of Rumble Impact out of Lady Leona.
The brindle dog was sent off with the winning chances of 4 to 1, breaking from third stall. The W.J. Black trained hound crossed the finish line in 26.94 seconds.
Millridge Major nabbed third slot on the table. The white and brindle hound, the son of Duke Special out of Bridge Tango, was enjoying odds of 3 to 1.
After leaving the second stand, J. Christie’s trainee reached the post in 27.03 second.
Droopys College, who finished fourth on the chart, gave Millridge Major, a very good competition, but the latter eventually ended up among the top-3 by a head’s distance.
The fourth position dog, the son of College Causeway out of Droopys Jackie, concluded his run in 27.05 seconds.
Prior to the race, he was rated favourite, with the winning probability of 11 to 4. However, J.M. Burridge’s hound could not perform up to his talent, finishing fourth in the list.
The remaining two positions went to Boynepark Impact and Brickhill Dunk, respectively.
It was a close clash for the second last position, but Boynepark Impact, the son of Royal Impact out of Burnpark Hanna, managed to secure the slot by 3/4 of a length.
Holding the odds of 7 to 2, he made it to the final point in 27. 24 second.
Brickhill Dunk, the daughter of Royal Impact out of Loughanboy Molly, completed the order of finish, wrapping up the proceedings in 27.29 seconds. Her starting price was 9 to 2, as she began the show from the fifth trap.
It was Swift Emma’s first success since November 2011. J.R. Grant’s b***h has all the potential, but needs consistency to stay at the top for a longer period.
