Swift Marathon to deliver positive result in Shelbourne Park’s Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby - Round 2 - Heat 12
Swift Marathon’s consistent run is a huge advantage and if the black dog manages to get a clear passage, he will be in a great position to annihilate the rivals in the Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby - Round 2 - Heat 12, being held at Shelbourne Park on
Saturday, August 11, 2012.
S. Graham’s charge failed to win last time, but was not disgraced. A fine start helped him lead at one stage, but the advantage was so little that it looked almost impossible to retain it. Crossfield Star, on the other hand, made the best use of the situation
and defeated Swift Marathon by two and a half lengths.
The son of Kinloch Brae recorded his last victory at the start of last month, when beating Camas by a length’s distance. Despite the fact that victories are not coming to his way regularly, he has been performing quite consistently for last few weeks.
He has an obvious chance of making it to the next round and if he succeeds in delivering his one hundred percent, he will be able to seize the top place by a decent margin.
Other hounds in the line-up are: Coolykereen Imp, Danmar Benny, Uncle Eoin, Robbiesgoneagain and Head For Fame. The meeting is due to get underway at 21:15 GMT.
Coolykereen Imp looks to be another powerful hound. The black dog had every chance of winning last time, but failed terribly. As a result, he finished third behind Tyrur Mcguigan.
Rumble Impact’s son is an experienced hound, and one can expect him to learn a lesson from his previous mistake and come up with an improved effort this time around.
Head For Fame is unlikely to get his head in front, as he is in not in good rhythm these days. Uncle Eoin is also going through a similar situation.
With most of the runners going through an unlucky spell, the competition revolves around Coolykereen Imp and Swift Marathon. The latter can be preferred, because Coolykereen Imp might once again fail to make the full use of the chance. We wish the best of
luck to all the runners.
