Swift Sonny to sway things in his favour at Yarmouth - Owners' Bonus Series - Heat 1
Swift Sonny has a good chance of dominating the proceedings in the opening heat of the Owners' Bonus Series, being held at Yarmouth on Wednesday, May 23rd. The Grade A4 championship has attracted strong runners for an exciting battle.
The winning hound will exit with a purse worth £49. Taking part in the 462 metres Flat race are:
Petite Bosconi
Dunham Ace
Swift Sonny
Tampa Bay
Perfect King
Mineola Hamilton
Swift Sonny is returning to this class with better preparations this time. In his previous A4 appearance, he was not impressive at all, completing the order of finish.
As a result, A Kelly-Pilgrim’s trainee was sent to the lower grade. Not losing his confidence, the dashing hound forced his connections to bring him back to this level following some brilliant performances lately.
After sealing the runner-up spot in two back to back races, Hondo Black’s son put in an extra effort to steal the show in a high profile contest earlier this month.
Despite the fact that he is facing a lot tougher opposition today, one can expect him to continue his good run.
Petite Bosconi is currently heading the market. Although victories have dried up for the black dog, he has managed to earn the highest starting price following a decent performance last time out.
In a similar event, Westmead Hawk’s son missed the finish in first place only by a short head’s distance.
Dunham Ace is another strong candidate. The blue dog has been performing decently over the past few weeks, but without the rub of the green. He ended up third last time around, and would attempt to improve his finishing today.
Perfect King does not have any chance at all. Similarly, Mineola Hamilton is unable to get a place in our shortlist. On the other hand, it will be a brave move to support Tampa Bay, who finished third in an A5 race last time around.
Conclusion
According to our calculations, Swift Sonny is capable of upsetting the 9-4 favourite, Petite Bosconi. However, he certainly requires a fantastic start to put his opponents under some pressure.
