Swim caps?

i play water polo so we wear swim caps and i have a hot pink cap and a white one that have turned swirly brown in some spots

i dont have died hair and they are both brand new

can anyone tell me why this happens and if i can get rid of it

also how can i keep my caps from smellying bad

  1. it is most likely turning colors because of mold if u aren't drying your cap out. try putting baby powder in it. baby powder dries out the cap and also makes it less itchy to wear.


  2. Pool water, as you probably know, isn't pure 100% water. There's chlorine as well as a bunch of minerals and other 'impurities' from the public usage. So, after a while, the pool water discolors caps and suits.

    Also, if you just throw your cap into your bag after using it, the bad smell is probably mold. To prolong your cap's life, you should rinse it with tap water after using it and let it air dry. I also find that silicone caps keep their color longer.

  3. I usually use latex swim cap-it fits better and keeps water out and does not come off  out of my head. I keep extra one in case one that i use goes "bad" which usually does. I swim almost each day and after about month i really have to throw my old cap away. Those things don't last long.

    do you put you goggles under a cap or over? I put mine over a cap so far not a problem.
