Question:

Swim suit size help!??

I am a provincial level swimmer in Canada, and I always have trouble finding swimsuits that fit! My measurements are 30 inches (chest) 28.5 inches (waist) 33 inches (hips), and 110 pounds, and I am 5"7. I can wear a size 32 semi-comfortably (still very hard to breathe!). I usually wear a size 34 at practice, but everyone says I should have a smaller size. Smaller sizes fit most of me, but feel so incredibly tight around my waist that it hurts! I don't know what to do!

  1. I'd say to get a 30 for racing and meets and stuff and then stick with your 34 for practice. It doesn't matter what size you wear at practice and comfort is always a good thing. Plus, if it's too big, drag at practice helps also. Meet suits should be tight enough that you wouldn't consider them comfortable. According to some of the sizing charts you should wear about a 30 for competitive suits. If you want to take a look at the measrements yourself. Here is the website I use.

  2. This may be exspensive in your area, but for my swim team I had a suit made for me to fit my size exactly because the "normal" sizes didn't fit my proportions.

  3. wow if your only 110 lbs you must be pretty skinny. i am 5'7 too, but im more like 125 lbs, and i wear a size 26 for races and a 28 for practice. for races they should be really tight. and you dont need to wear the tight suit for the whole meet. you can just change right mbefore your race so your shoulders dont hurt or w/e
