  1. Weights, squats, & crunches

  2. holy cow, im 13 as of yesterday, and my 50 free is a 29.69 second. and if ur tired of kicking, u shoudn't be doing swim, thats what most of it is. >=O - yelling face.

  3. Sit on the edge of your bed/a couch and kick with your legs straight for about 30 seconds, then take a 5 second break and do this about 10 times. You can vary how long your break is and how how long you kick for but it should be outside your your comfort zone.

When I was 12 I did about a 34, but that wasn't my form stroke. At a competitive level, I would say that the minimum you should be aiming for would be about a 36/37, but keep in mind that you are only a beginner and that you have plenty of potential and time to improve. Also, you may be better at butterfly, breaststroke or backstroke, so no-one can judge your swimming by looking only at your freestyle time.

  4. For just starting that is an average time for your age. A good exercise for you legs is to do some dryland kicking, just lay on the ground put your hands under your butt and lift your legs and start flutter kicking, its good to do it for 30 secs on and then rest for 10 sec and do that quite a few times. talk to your coach about other things you can do. I'm a swimmer myself and my 50 free time is 21.34. Good luck

  5. well thats not average, trust me i swam in the 11-12 age group for 2 years and i never saw anyone with a 50... average is 35... i had a 29.

but you just started so its fine =] KEEP SWIMMING  a 50 is good for a beginner.

exercises for your legs are squats, flutter kicks laying on your back, lay on your back and push your legs up & down, start running it will give you muscle in your legs that you need. try 2 mile runs about 3 times a week it will help more than anything!

also try going to a weight room they have lots of leg exercises! good luck!

  6. hey gurl....dont feel bad or anything, u just started!!!!!!! in swimming it takes a bit to build up yr speed. so ya its good that yr going out and doing something......ive been swimming for 5 yrs and im at 27secs. u might not have done a flip turn or if u did not that good at it so that might have been yr problem..........KEEP IT UP GURL!!!!!!
