Swimmac Carolina clinches Men’s 800m freestyle relay heat – 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals
Day four of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals ended with scintillating splash of Swimmac Carolina’s swimmers in Paloalto, California, on Friday, August 5.
The final session of the heats conducted the Men’s 800m freestyle relay, in which Swimmac Carolina’s squad of Davis Tarwater, John Stilley, Timothy Phillips and Kip Darmody won the heat with an impressive time of 7 minutes and 20.55 seconds.
In the meantime, Stanpc Stanford’s athletes, Morgan Priestley, Robert Bollier, Robert Andrews and Aaron Wayne finished second in a time of 7 minutes and 20.62 seconds. On the other hand, Club Wolverine’s team of Daniel Madwed, Michael Wynalda, Adam Dejong
and Roman Willets rounded out the top three in the respective meet with a time of 7 minutes and 27.35 seconds.
Ohio State University finished fourth on the podium with a time of 7 minutes and 27.50 seconds, while Indiana University was placed fifth with a time of 7 minutes and 28.43 seconds. Stanpc Stanford Swimming settled sixth in 7 minutes and 28.90 seconds, whereas,
Alto Stanford Aquatics wound up seventh in a time of 7 minutes and 29.23 seconds.
Earlier in the day, Garrett Webergale won the Men’s 100m freestyle final meet with a winning time of 48.87 seconds. James Fiegen finished second on the podium in a time of 48.99 seconds and Scott Robinson of NSSNC settled third with a time of 49.06 seconds.
Additionally, Kathleen Hersey of TXLAST snared the Women’s 200m butterfly crown with a sterling time of 2 minutes and 07.61 seconds, while Lyndsay Paul De of TROJCA finished second in a time of 2 minutes and 09.47 seconds. Teresa Crippen of GAACMA rounded
out the top three in a time of 2 minutes and 10.08 seconds.
Moreover, Conor Dwyer of LFSCIL won the Men’s 200m Individual Medley title with a time of 1 minute and 59.19 seconds. Meanwhile, William Harris of UN08CA finished second in 2 minutes and 00.91 seconds, whereas, FORDAZ’s Christopher Burckle was placed third
in a time of 2 minutes and 01.10 seconds.
