Swimmers impress at the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals
The 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals saw several impressive swims on the podium in Paloalto, California, this month. The session of the meet held Men’s 200 Individual Medley and Women’s 200 butterfly events. Conor Dwyer won the 200m IM title, whereas,
Kathleen Hersey snared the 200m butterfly crown.
Firstly, The LFSCIL’s Conor Dwyer was up against UNO8CA’s William Harris and Burckle in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley finale, where Dwyer gave his best attempt and snatched the gold medal of the meet by posting a record time of 1 minute and 59.19 seconds.
In the corresponding race, Harris hit the wall in 2 minutes and 00.91 seconds to grab silver of the meet and Burckle captured bronze on the podium by submitting an impressive time of 2 minutes and 01.10 seconds.
HACMA’s David Noland earned fourth place by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 01.14 seconds. In the meantime, The FORDAZ’s Cory Chitwood and FASTCA’s Robert Margalis settled in a tie by posting a time of 2 minutes and 01.24 seconds. Afterwards, The NBACMD’s
Todd Patrick was placed seventh in a time of 2 minutes and 01.35 seconds and Austin Surhoff of UN01ST hit the wall in 2 minutes and 02.40 seconds to finished eighth.
Last, but not the least, Kyle Whitaker of CWMI snared ninth spot of the race by posting a time of 2 minutes and 04.23 seconds. Jack Brown won the Men’s 200m IM B final meet with a matchless time of 2 minutes and 00.82 seconds, while NBACMD clinched the 200m
IM C final race by posting a time of 2 minutes and 02.22 seconds.
In the meantime, Kathleen Hersey of TXLAST took home the Women’s 200m butterfly crown on the podium by submitting a fascinating time of 2 minutes and 07.61 seconds. Lyndsay Paul De of TROJCA wound up second in a time of 2 minutes and 09.47 seconds, while
Teresa Crippen of GAACMA rounded out the top three in a time of 2 minutes and 10.08 seconds.
In the corresponding meet, Kimberly Vandenberg of NYACMR finished fourth in a time of 2 minutes and 10.14 seconds and Elaine Breeden of STANPC was placed fifth in 2 minutes and 10.28 seconds. VOLSSE’s Kelsey Floyd earned sixth place honours in 2 minutes
and 10.77 seconds, while MACNC’s Katherine Mills settled seventh on the podium by posting a time of 2 minutes and 11.51 seconds.  
FORDAZ’s Alyssa Anderson was placed eighth in a time of 2 minutes and 11.71 seconds, while NOVAVA’s Alison Haulsee finished ninth in a time of 2 minutes and 11.96 seconds. STANPC’s Andrea Taylor settled tenth in 2 minutes and 12.15 seconds. Meanwhile, WKUKY’s
Claire Donahue snagged the Women’s 200m butterfly B finale meet on the podium by posting a sterling time of 2 minutes and 10.16 seconds.
AGSGU’s Natalie Adams was placed second in a time of 2 minutes and 10.48 seconds, whereas, PASAPC’s Jasmine Tosky finished third in 2 minutes and 10.75 seconds. Moreover, SANDCA’s Olivia Barker won the Women’s 200m butterfly C final race on the podium by
submitting an impressive time of 2 minutes and 11.65 seconds. GSCFL’s Jamie Bohunicky finished second in a time of 2 minutes and 12.10 seconds and YSSCSC’s Haley Lips was placed third in 2 minutes and 12.14 seconds.
