Swimmers impress in vital races at Halmstad - Swedish Long Course Nationals 2011
Day two of the Swedish Long Course Nationals ended with impressive performances of Robin Andreasson, Niklas Borin and Gustav Aberg Lejdstrom in their respective events at Halmstad, Sweden, on Thursday, June 30.
Robin Andreasson nabbed the Men’s 200m freestyle title with a sterling time of 1 minute and 50.58 seconds. Paul Gordon wound up second in 1 minute and 52.28 seconds, while Oscar Ekstrom was placed third in a time of 1 minute and 52.85 seconds.
In the Women’s 400m freestyle meet, Fagundez secured the top spot in a time of 4 minutes and 14.33 seconds. Stenkvist stood second after she touched the finishing wall in 4 minutes and 14.36 seconds, whereas, Ekelund earned third place honours with a time
of 4 minutes and 24.62 seconds.
In the Men’s 50m back-stroke event, Niklas Borin wound up first in 26.80 seconds, while Mans Hjelm settled second in 26.83 seconds. Sebastian Holmberg ended his swim in the third place, after he posted a time of 26.89 seconds.
Jesper Birch took home the Men’s 200m butterfly title with a winning time of 2 minutes and 04.06 seconds. Viktor Bjork wound up second in 2 minutes and 04.41 seconds, while Carlsson settled third in 2 minutes and 05.65 seconds.
Gustav Aberg Lejdstrom snagged the Men's 1500 freestyle title with a winning time of 15 minutes and 52.75 seconds, whereas, Oskar Nordstrand finished his swim second in 16 minutes and 14.51 seconds. Jonas Grundstrom earned third place honours in 16 minutes
and 15.63 seconds.
Earlier, Jennie Johansson won the Women’s 50m breast-stroke race with a sterling time of 30.98 seconds. On the other hand, Johan Johansson nabbed the Men’s 100m breast-stroke meet with a winning time of 1 minute and 03.63 seconds.
Fagundez grabbed the Women's 800m freestyle title after touching the finishing wall in a time of 8 minutes and 55.85 seconds. Robin Andreasson captured the Men's 200m freestyle title with a time of 1 minute and 50.58 seconds. In addition, Fagundez clinched
the Women’s 400m freestyle title, as she completed her swim in a winning time of 4 minutes and 14.33 seconds.
