  1. bananas, and gatorade.

  2. What you need is Pasta it is high in Energy and it realeses it slowly. I would say eat it 40 minutes before a session/race so you dont get indergestion. If your keen on fruit bananes are also good at doing the same!

But if you have a sweet tooth have some sweets just before your session/race but beware to many and you will feel ill.

  3. an orange.  i always have an orange, a piece of bread and bottle of water before a heavy workout.

  4. yogurt with wheat germ sprinked on top or Carnation Instant Breakfast.  Thats what my mom gave to us when I was swimming on a team..   Worked good for my brother and I.

  5. i go with a granola bar (odwalla brand) and an arizona green tea

  6. 4 or 5 Big Macs should do the trick.

  7. musily bars have alot of energy and they are not to havy in ur stomach and try bananas too just eat small things with lots of energy in them.

    xx

  8. I typically don't eat a snack, I just eat a nice big meal a few hours before my swim. I've found that eating snacks soon before a meet disrupts acidic balances in your stomach (or mine at least) which causes burning sensations from your throat to your intestines which isn't a fun thing to deal with before a swim.

But as for a meal to eat before a meet I would recommend an omelette with toast on the side, it'd be a good idea to include some ham in the omelette for protein but no sausage or bacon, these again cause acidic imbalances because they contain high amounts of acids. If you're not in a breakfast mood I would recommend a chicken sandwich (like lunch meet, not grilled again with the acids involved), the buns of the sandwich would be carbs and the chicken would be a good source of protein because quick-burning carbs and some protein is what you want before a meet.

  9. A smoothie and a bottle of water works good for me every time.

  10. i love eating red jell-o before but graonola bars are usually great

  11. a nutri-grain bar... they're yummy and they're good for you plus they have carbs for energy

  12. Bananas, because it has Potassium, which helps prevents cramps

  13. i've always been told to have a banana before i go swimming

    hope this helps

  14. fruit:: oranges work pretty well for me

  15. bananas.

  16. Bananas are good if you get cramps.

  17. jello?

  18. Ususally I had a bagel, or some pita bread with hummus before a practice (30 min before).  The hummus being the better option because it has tons of protein and it's light.  Bagels i usually reserved for actual meets.

Bananas are also the best, like someone said they prevent cramps.  Potatos are also known to have a lot of pottassium but that would be kinda heavy before a practice!

  19. i usually go with a large burger and a milkshake. but everyone knows you cant have a burger with out fries. so i have some of those too. i alos find it helpful to eat an entire thing of oreos and 12 red bulls because that always seems to give me a c**p load of energy.

only downside: classic rules of the pool inform us that a 30 minute waiting period is manditory. so plan accordingly.
