  1. Make sure that you have a dark wrap... maybe black? as soon as you get out of the pool put it on. You might even want to look into getting a dark wrap/skirt that you can wear in the water. You could also buy another darker bathing suit. White bathing suits tend to deteriorate faster and go see through a lot faster.

Change your tampon everytime you get out of the pool.

I would look for this product that is called "Instead" it takes some getting use to, but it's a sort of cup that you insert and it collects everything... I love it when I'm swimming

The Diva Cup is another product that might help, but I've never used it.

  2. dont be so worried every girl in the  will get her period at some awkward time. change it every 2 hours id say. and if any one asks just say its lady problems trust me they wont think anything more of it honestly good luck and try and enjoy the day  x x

  3. !! DONT LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO SAY YOUR PERIOD STOPS IN WATER!! I'm on a swim team. My friend thought that, and she often went without a tampon or anything. It usually stopped. But once she felt something, she got out of the water, and found out she had it. And being on a swim team and constantly swimming laps, its not like she was getting in & out of the water. So don't listen to those people. You definitely should wear a tampon, especially with a white bathing suit.

If you've worn a tampon before, you should know about how much you change it, and do it a little less. If your period is heavy, don't use a regular one, use a super one or one designed for heavier flow. If you don't have any of those, you should probably change your regular one at a safe amount. Try taking it out after an hour or even less. If you have one designed for higher absorbency, then you can wait longer. Make sure you have enough and if you think you should, go ahead and change it. There's no reason to change it every single time you get out of the water. The flow sometimes stops in water, or at least lessens.

Good luck! Dont worry & have fun!

  4. your period stops in water, just to let you know. but wear a pantie liner just incase your tampon leaks! and change your tampon every 3-4 hours or even 5...cuz you wouldn't want to waste tampons and it shouldn't be that bad! good luck though and STOP worrying about it!

  5. lol dont worri girly!

your peroid usualy stops when in water,

have you noticed in teh shower you dont gush blood everywhere? haha not that any one would "gush" anyway

    youll be fine dont worrie

  6. if it's really heavy then use one of the super plus tampons! it prob would be fine if u didnt have a white bathing suit coz then any small leakages wouldnt be noticed that much!

  7. relax, it's fine, every girl has this

No body will notice just make sure if its really heavy you change it every 1-2 hours

when you get out just wrap a towel around you incase of an "ACCIDENT" and go to the bathroom, then change and come out, bring an extra suit from a friend or something incase you have an emergency and if somebody asks why you changed say you were uncomfortable or your suit ripped.

Just dont worry about it, because when you are in water you stop bleeding as heavy, if at all, so just relax and have fun

    Good Luck

  8. I agree with most of these people about just using a Super tampon and changing it every hour or so. Believe it or not, a lot of the girls at this party will have had the same problem and have had a period, so they're not going to make fun of you. And the guys aren't really going to be paying much attention anyway. It's my experience that while they may appreciate all the girls runnign around in bikinis, they're more interested in making the biggest cannon ball splash.

  9. Aww. It's ok, just change it every 30-45 minutes.

  10. Just keep changing your tampon a little more often than you would out of the water.

Maybe drink a lot of water at this party, so you can have an excuse for going ot the bathroom a lot?

  11. wat i would say is since ur on ur period then u should change ur tampon every our or to this same thing happened to me wen i was a bit younger so i no how u feel. if u start to feel un comfartable then u should probably stay out of the water 4 a wile. ur body is mor important

  12. You will be ok. Just change it on a regular basis. You should be able to successfully self-monitor. I would be more concerned about a white bathing suit. Darker colors would have been preferable. Take a deep breath and enjoy your day. It will be ok.

  13. your period usually stops in water ... so it you put a tampon in and take a shower so no blood gets on ur bathing suit youll be fine trust me =]

    goodluck<3

  14. FIRST off DO NOT wear a pad of any sorts thin or not in the water...I read someone else say that it sounds like a good idea but DON'T it will expand the break and it will be terrible...don't do it!!! Get a larger tampon then normal like a larger or super sized one!! And don't stress out it'll be fine!!! I swim on a swim team and I'm ALWAYS in the water on my period!! It's no big deal. just make sure you monitor it!!! And just make sure that the string doesn't come out of your bathing suit!! It rarly happens but it can happen!!! Just have a fun time...bring some dark color shorts just in case you do leak, put them on and just tell everyone your tired!!!

  15. Why do you have to swim? why cant you just be social

if insisted from others, where a tampon, but change maybe every 30 to 45 mins. depending on how  heavy and how much you move around.  If your goin to be aroun guys, DONT HUG or let them touch you that much... dont try to risk being embarrasment.

try not to let everyone see how obvious it is, just tell them if they ask, that you have a weak blatter today or something

    good luck sweety

  16. Honey, just don't go into the water or just put in your feet.

To play it safe , just wear your tampon with a panty liner along with some shorts over your bathing suit change your friend, every 20 minutes.

  17. its okay. calm down. change your tampon before you go into the pool. apparantely, the blood usually stays in while you are in water. It wont show. I have a friend who had the p's during swimming without a tampon and not much came out.

    good luck

  18. I'd say the tampon has to be changed every time you get out of the water for any period of time. You might also want to consider wearing a thin pad in your bathing suit. Sure it will get wet, but it will still stop any leakage from coming out for long enough for you to get to the bathroom. You might want to run over to Walmart and buy a pair of black boys trunks to wear as bottoms. I wouldn't be wearing white. I think that's a disaster waiting to happen. Good luck! :)

EDIT: For those of you who dismiss her fears, you are wrong. For some women, your flow IS light enough to stop while in the pool or in the shower, but for some women, it is not. Judge not lest ye be judged. She has a valid concern!

  19. Don't swim if a super tampon will not even help your flow

  20. Okay dont' worry.change you're tampon every 2-3 hours and you  won't leak when you're in the water for sure and when you're coming out. just keep checking yourself and don't draw attention to it. If you can see if u can borrow a darker swimmingsuit from a friend to make yourself feel better.

  21. a tapon would help if ure not afraid of using one of course...

  22. Omg... such immature children...

Put a tampon it.  That's it.  Nothing will leak out.  The tampon will block it.  Also, when you go in water, your period will temporarily stop anyway.

  23. 1. I would go get a new suit asap, so if you do have a leak you're not really noticeable.

    2. Change every hour....just do different things like get a drink and chat on your cell to make it not look so obvious.

    Good luck

  24. ok so im the same way with having a strong period...just get supper plus tampons and i havent tried platex sports but i always use platex because of the all around protection. change it every 2 hrs and you should be good. i would though try and get a darker black if possible bathing suit because your going to be so nervous about the white bathing suit. o and after you go to the bathroom once or so take a friend with you that u know real well just so u feel like people wont notice, youll be fine...have fun

  25. I have been in water when I had a period, n tampon does not work...just absorbed lots of water. Do not wear swimsuit, I was embarrassed...cuz of spilt blood on my legs. Also, other people in the pool will be uncomfortable with your period.
