  1. amanda beard, and mary desenza

  2. the olympic swimming team hasn't been picked yet

they trials are in june or july in omaha nebraska

  3. phelps. he should get at leads 6 golds

  4. Well according to the first poster Katie Hoff holds the world records on 200 & 400 im, this is incorrect, Stephanie Rice of Australia holds the 400im record long course, however the way Kirsty Coventry is swimming at the moment it is hard to see past her for the Medley events and also the 200 backstroke.

Natalie Couglin should dominate the 100 back.

The sprint free events will be dominated by Marleen Veldhuis of Holland 50m Free and Libby Trickett AUS 100 & 200 (maybe Manadou on 200 also)

400 free will be Manadou FRA, Allegrini ITA, Palmer AUS and hopefully for GB Adlington all fighting for Gold

Leisel Jones AUS will dominate the Breastroke events, as an earlier poster said Amanda Beard, I think she will find it hard to even medal, Jessica Hardy is the US's best chance of a medal in womans breastroke, very fast over 100.

Rebecca Adlington of GB will be chasing Janet Evans world record on the 800 free (one of the oldest), should be a good race with Katie Ziegler of the US and Laure Manadou of France (if she does it), the race will produce a definate World Record I think.

I say all the above but with China holding the Olympics I am sure some Wu's or Zu's that we have never heard of in World swimming will appear breaking records etc. winning the golds, but lets hope I am not wrong

  5. katie hoff has the world records in the 200m and 400m IM...natalie coughlins gotta be up there somewhere

  6. Hard one to call.

The recent short course World Championships produced one or two names that werent familiar to me. There is always the chance that a couple of them could be outside smokers and throw up a surprise or two at the Olympics.
