  1. I have had eczema in several places on my body over the years. Currently, it's fairly well controlled through a prescription cream (Triamcin) from my doctor. If you haven't already done so, you could see your doctor for something similar. It's really helped me.

I also take loratadine (the generic version of Claritin) for allergies, but it also helps me to stop itching so I don't make the eczema worse.

But I know about hurtful comments too. For instance, when it was worse, I had eczema on my neck and my teammates (and coaches sometimes) would ask where I got the hickeys from or who had tried to strangle me. They were just joking around but I didn't appreciate it. I never let it get me down too much. I knew what I looked like made no difference once I was in the water swimming, doing what made me feel good about myself. At the time I couldn't control the way my eczema looked, so I decided not to worry about what I couldn't control.

  2. A friend of mine put baby oil on her skin as a barrier to help her eczema from going red,

  3. unfortunately, this is human nature (for some people without manners).

it is well known that ecxema is made worse by anxiety, so that really doesn't help matters. have you ever tried EFT (emotional freedom technique)?

you will find it on the internet. i have found it very useful for physical conditions such as that.

hope you feeling better soon x

  4. Are you sure it's a form of ecxema? Mabye there is just too much chlorine in the water and your skins is really dry. When we went swimming at school, everyones skin was red because of all the chlorine they use in the pool. Lotion will fix it if that's the case.
