  1. you have no idea whats in it.

thre could be big snakes or spiders or lizards and grossness.

    DO NOT GO IN

  2. wel first take a stick to see whats in it

then pull some of weeds and stick like a pitcher in the water to see and at the bottom

  3. no. ponds are disgusting.

  4. send a water sample to some one at the zoo or someone form the city or town you live in. have a licened landscape director give you a quote or something like that, on what a filter system could do. one can't be to safe, you never know what could be in there

  5. You should have it checked out.  Chances are you can swim in it... however there may be things like water snakes (that will more or less leave you alone unless you make them angry) and snapping turtles that can take your fingers and toes off.  Unless you know what you are swimming with it is a good idea to stay clear of it.

  6. no

  7. deff. not.

that is something i would never do.

  8. you would have to be insane to jump in that stuff, it probably a run-off collection area for stormwater.

  9. of course not!!!    ick - just the thought of the slime   3 1/2 is not nearly deep enough

  10. heck no dont be crazy

  11. I have the same thing right across form my house. It's good for skating on in the winter, but I would definitely NOT swim in it. I know for me there are alot of snapping tutles and snakes not to mention you oculd get sick!

  12. It sounds like the pond is too small for the water to turn and it is probably one temperature all the time.

The water in your pond sounds stagnant.

It is probably full of bacteria and micro-organisms that you really don't want to swim with.

not to mention that frogs love reproducing in ponds like that.

  13. Yeah you prob want to seek out moving water to swim in like larger lakes, rivers, streams etc.  The stagnant water can carrier all types of bacterias and bad stuff.

  14. Call County Agriculture Agent. Ask about having the water tested. It should be free.  Meanwhile, stay out of it. Think of the snakes and such!
