  1. i've been swimming for almost ten years and it all depends what you eat outside of swimming.  swimming is one of the best ways to exercise, it works literally all your muscles. but you also need to make sure you are eating healthy foods.  if you are eating right and exercising like you said, you will most likely lose weight, and gain muscle!

  2. There are many variables to take into account. I'll use some round numbers to illustrate the point. You can find online calorie counters that will help you figure out what your "baseline" caloric needs are.

30 minutes of very intense exercise => about 500 calories

30 minutes of intense exercise => 250 calories

30 minutes of light exercise => 150 calories

[The above values are guesses -- they really depend on your age/s*x/body composition/type of exercise]

    A pound of fat = 3500 calories.

Let's assume that you'll eat exactly what you need to maintain your weight if you didn't exercise at all. If your swimming and cycling is 60 minutes of light-to-moderate exercise, that means:

    400 calories/day x 20 days = 8000 calorie deficit. That means you'd lose about 2+ pounds after a month.

You'll lose more if you crank up the intensity (e.g. ride hills, swim hard) and if you restrict calories.

  3. depends on how and what kind of food you untake,if you do it right that is a great way to get fit
