I just bought one of those Intex $150 pools that is 15 feet by 42 inches. What kind of chemicals to I need to use in this type of pool? The books or DVD does not say anything and I just wondered how and when to do pool upkeep..I know...I should have investigated this beforehand but it was a spur of the moment decision..spent the last of my tax "relief" to get relief from this heat! LOL!

  1. chlorine is a def. also, call a local pool store and ask them. i assume it is the same if there's a pump. if not, a chlorine floater might be all you need.

  2. I calculate your volume as follows....

    ((7.5)squared x pi x 3.5 feet) x 7.48 = 4626 gallons

1ppm of liquid chlorine, sodium hypochlorite 12.5% is 5.16oz

    Typical chlorine is 1-3ppm.

Get a conditioner, stabilizer or Cyanuric Acid all the same and calculate a dose for your pool and administer it.  Allow time for it to dissolve and always follow the makers instructions about chemicals to use.  Check out their website too, good information!

Get a good testkit or at least chlorine and pH.

  3. make sure to use clourine
