Swimming pool heater?

I'm wondering if there's a pool heater that we could use to heat up the swimming pool faster? and where to find it.

Theres Gas heating, Solar heating, Electric heating and electro heat pumps (like reverse cycle air con)

Gas is fast. Big gas heater - but costs heaps... so many variables - budget is a major factor.

As the first responder answered.. there are many ways that you can heat your pool.  gas is the fastest, But even a large gas fired heater will still only heat up your water on average about 1 degree an hour.  So if your water temperature right now is at 50 degrees and you want a comfortable 78 degree water temperature, you are going to have to run your pool for 28 straight hours..   On top of all that, if you live in an area where it is still going into the high 30's or low 40s at night, you are also going to lose alot of water during the nights to evaporation.  Look at the pool when it gets cool/cold and it looks like a hot tub with steam coming off of it.  All that steam is your pool water leaving your pool because it is heated so high.

Unfortunately, you cant just put a heater onto a pool.  You have to have gas lines run, and be installed properly, which requires a call to a gas fitter <something most pool companies do not do> and then you have a sizeable cost for the heater <1500 dollars or more roughly.. honestly dont know what they get for them these days since i left the industry> along with the installation and if your pool equipment is in a shed or pool house etc, you are going to need to have proper venting.  IN all, by the time you get this all done, the water will probably be warm enough to swim anyways.

Either way, regardless of what heater system you use, you are going to need to run your pool equipment <pump and filter system> to circulate the water through your heater, and its going to cost you alot of money in the long run.
