Swimming pool pump works but there is no suction?

I just had the lid on my pump replaced. I also had the pump re-plumbed and sealed. There is pressure in the guage (20) when the pump is turned on but there is no suction. My creepy crawler does not move on the bottom of the pool. I put my hand to the wall to see if there is any suction and there is none. What could this possibly be?

  1. ck;  clean basket.....backwash....rinse....this should do it.....my guage reads 38.....

  2. does the gauge drop to 0 when the pump is turned off?...if it does, its probably a dirty filter...if not, heres a few tips on pump suction: http://www.swimming-pool-information.com...

  3. Take it back where you had it repaired and make them fix it. It appears that something wasn't properly indexed when it was put bak together. They should have tested it before giving it back to you.
