Swimming pools - Gunite or fiberglass? ?

Question

What's the benefit of each? Any input (good or bad) to either?

In research and I've got one shot at it. Appreciate whatever you

can give.

The "BEST" material depends upon the type of soil and  expected moisture level of the soil.  ("Depth of water table.")  Skill of the applicator/installer is also important.  Fiberglass is better in well drained areas with dry sandy soils.  Gunite being denser is better in wet soils and areas with lots of clay in the soil.  Clay will expand and contract depending on the moisture content at the time.  What did your neighbor use for their pool?  If it lasted 20 years with no problems, do what your neighbor did....

cardbaord is best, because it allows the water to "breathe". fiberglass is just too hard on the hydrogen bonds.
