  1. we had a 25' round above ground metal pool when i grew up. we got that after out smaller metal pool blew the sides completely. like exploded outward. BUT that was back in the 90's.....

  2. 2 words IN GROUND

  3. If you want a pool that is 24X52, then there is only going to be one solution....

    In ground.

Above ground pools are not made in those lengths, and your blow up intex pools are no where near that big, plus, the nature of these pools, there would probably be too much water pressure for these systems to hold that much water..

Your most common pool sizes are 15X30, 16x32 18x36, and 20x40 which is the most common of pools.

But you said you wanted a pool 24X52.  There is NO above ground pool i am aware of that is that large, so your only choice at this point i am afraid is to spend the money and get an inground pool if you have to have a pool this size.

  4. The closest you'll get to that size in an above ground is a Doughboy 41 X 21.

24 X 52 is pretty big for a residential pool. Usually you won't even find an inground much larger that 20 X 40 as a rule, but that's more to do with the limited lot sizes you find in real estate these days, than anything else.

Yes, galvanized wall pools are fine and actually offer a little more option wise, when it comes to building decks around them.

  5. In ground pools definitely will improve your homes value and is generally much nicer, but they are quite expensive.

When I first moved into my house, it came with a small above ground pool. Though right next door (almost literally), was a really nice, semi-private pool. I decided it was best to just join there.

As far as an inflatable pool, your best to shop around at maybe wal-mart or ask around at a local pool shop to see what they have. I'm unaware if there is a specific brand that is best, but your better to get a cheap inflatable pool, fork up the extra buck and get an in ground, or just join a membership somewhere.
