Swimming race times... is this good???

i did 100mtrs in 2mins:17secs is this agood time??

That is.. alright. Not Wonderful, but could use work. My time for 100 meter free is 1 minute 32 seconds.

It is good, most people at my school struggle to swim 100metres however it is not probably competition time but it does give you quite a bit of room to improve.

I would say that with just a little practise you would be able to crack the 2 minute mark and perhaps get it as low as 1:45 without any serious training.

Im 16 and havent been swimming for very long but I have been able to get mine down from 1:45 down to a 1:29 quite easily!

For training try swimming longer distances than the 100m for your breastroke, try 400m at a quite fast pace (say around 60% to 70% of your strength) and then the 100m (at 100%) will seem like a doddle and you will be able to cut your times down.

Remember that you will have to stick with it though, it is quite a tough road to improvement in swimming!

hmm.. well im a breastroker. and my meters time is under 2 minutes.. to be brutally honest i wouldn't say it is great.. but i guess it depends on your age.. maybe you are younger than i think you are. i am guessing from your time that you are only a summer club swimmer.

i'm a year around high school swimmer and i am definetly under that time..

Thats pretty slow, sorry to say that if you are a swimmer, if not I guess its ok, I was doing alot quicker than that at 11 years old

sorry,but its not great,if you want to compete you would need to be under 1:20
