ok I'm kinda new to swimming on a team and I'm confused on what kick your supposed to do in streamline...sometimes they do dolphin kick but sometimes flutter too...so which one is it? Oh and how do I keep water from going in my nose when doing it?

Plus when I'm doing dolphin kicks...should I move my shoulders up and down first or with my hips and legs?

  1. blow out of ur nose when you want to keep water out of ur nose and i do dolphin kicks with my hips and legs first.

  2. When you are doing Freestyle and backstroke, it both. Do dolphin kicks til you get near the waters surface, and then transition into flutter kick for a good breakout. When you are doing dolphin kicks, its best to keep your upper body still, or at least that the way the fastest people in the world do it. To keep water from going in your nose, either blow out air through your nose or close up your nose using your lips. I can keep water out of my nose just by flexing it. Hope this helped. =]

  3. I was taught to do the streamline the dolphin style.
