Question:

Swimming technique?

Does anyone know of any good websites that help with swimming technique? I have been told that I shouldn't do breast stroke by my physio, and can only swim freestyle or backstroke. However, it's been years since I've been swimming and am a little rusty.

I will pay for adult swimming lessons if I have to, but I think if I can see the right technique in pictures, I will be able to master it that way.

Many thanks for any assistance given.

  1. I read loads of websites and downloaded video clips to try and improve my freestyle stroke but without much success.  I then started swimming at a new pool and got chatting to some people, one of whom was an ex-coach.  Over a period of a couple of weeks he gave me a few tips and showed me what I should be doing and things improved dramatically.  So I would say take the lessons, having someone there to see the problems and show you the right technique is by far the best way to learn.

  2. I don't know any sites, but I recently improved my crawl by watching swimmers on the television. The lessons might be a good idea though just to have someone see what you're doing wrong.

  3. Well... you can go to http://usaswimming.org/usasweb/DesktopDe...  this will help you a lot!

  4. Go to www.usaswimming.com it is a website for club teams but it also has lots of training advice and it may also help you find an instructor.

  5. http://goswim.tv/pages/5/videos.html

  6. Just go and practise

if you are unsure sit in the pool, and watch others.

Swim clubs are really fun and a great way to get out of the house , excersie and make friends :]
