Hi again,

I have some unanswered questions yet. On a canada, new england cruise in august, is the weather generally warm enough for the swimming pools? Also, what are the dining options? My husband does not want to dress up in a suit and tie on vacation , even for a meal. They say they have 2 formal dining nites-is there other options then, do you always get seated with other people or are you alone at your table? If thats even possible.

  1. The Victory has a Magradome (giant glass lid on the rear pool), so it is ALWAYS swimming weather.  You have a choice of several dining options for formal night, if you don't want to dress up, and yes, you will have assigned seating in the main dining room at dinner, so you will have the same table-mates.  You can request a table for two if you wish, but no guarantees.

  2. If you dine in the main dinning room yes there is a dress code.  The option for the two formal nights is dine on the lideo deck.  The food and service there is just as good and you do not have to dress up its casual.  Swimming in August yes you can.  I don't belive the weather will be too cold.

If you booked your cruise through a travel agent they should have set your main dinning table to 2 people or what ever you wanted it to be.

If you booked through a web site good luck.

  3. Hi! If youre going on the big seven youre always find casual alternatives even during formal night so its no need to worry about that. Most cls will even let you in the main reasturant even if youre not dressed up. Remember that swiming gears arent alouded in reasturants at all time. Some cruise lines will have tables for two and all will have bigger so its mostly your choise. Ill find that eating together is a real social boost. If youre dont like your companions you can always dine at an alternate dining spot or the buffe. But most cruise passengers are relaxed ones that are there to have fun, just like you. Johan

  4. You always have other options on cruises when it comes to dinning. There Are always people who do not even want to put on long pants during a cruise. So they opt to eat in the Buffet. For the dinning room, you can get by wearing either slacks, or khaki's like dockers and a polo shirt. I have even seen some jeans in the dinning room, but you may get some looks if you do wear jeans. You do NOT have to wear formal clothes even on formal night in the dinning room, it is just that most do. The dinning room have tables for two, four, six, or 8 or 10. You choose what kind of seating either on line or through your travel agent. As far as swimming goes, it should be warm enough, but may not be. I have seen people swimming on a cruise to Alaska. Besides the pools are heated as well as the hot tubs.

  5. well, it depends on the cruise lines. if you are taking princess, you have the choise of anytime dining. This is when you can eat whenever you want, and whatever you want. Canada is around 65 degrees. YOu could go swimming, maybe in an indoor pool. Onj a formal night, you do not have to dress up. But, if you have a specific dining time, you have to dress up. well, if depends on your cruise. If you have a speacial dining time, and you are sharing a table with someone, you are stuck with them. If you have an anytime dining, you might want to reserve your own table. But there are lots to eat, like a buffet, or pizza, depends on your cruise ship. Have fun on your cruise !
