  3. no, i swim with my eyes open all the time and my eyes just stay the same all the time.  But then again thats just me, it maybe could hurt someone else's eyes

  4. No, but the stuff in the water (i.e. chlorine in pools, dirt in lakes) can irritate your eyes. It's best to use goggles to prevent irritation and any type of infection.
