Swindon to host five Greyhound Open Races on January, 25 – Preview
Swindon is set to host five greyhound Open Races on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. There will be some other events at the venue as well, which will increase the total number of races to 12 for the day.
The first open race of the day, Blunsdon 509er, will see six greyhounds participate in it. However, the most favourite to win it will be Coolavanny Jane, trained by K. Findlay.
The black b***h has been in impressive form over the past few races, as she has been victorious in four out of the last seven events. She was unable to win her last race at Romford on Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
Coolavanny Jane had entered that race with a starting price of 4 to 7, and was the favourite to win. However, she was unable to live up to the expectations of her trainer, and covered the race distance a second slower than the winner, Fatboyz Pacquiao.
The main reason behind the upset of Findlay’s trained b***h was that she got off to a bad start. Losing the momentum in the initial stages proved to be costly for her, thus she only managed a third place finish.
There seems to be no competition for, Coolavanny Jane, in this race, as she is the best of all participants. However, anything can happen in racing, as the slightest of mistakes can cost the greyhound dearly.
There might be a close competition in the Blunsdon Stayers, second open race of the day. The 685 metres race will test the speed and stamina of the greyhounds and only the fittest of all will end up on top of the table.
Head Iton Granty and Jurisdiction will be expected to challenge each other in the event, as they have had a very good time recently. Both dogs will get a good starting price, but the former of the two might start as the favourite.
Head Iton Granty, trained by S. Race, has been victorious twice in the last four events he took part in. All of those races were 460 metres or more, which indicates that the black dog has the ability to do well in long distance races.
On the other hand, H. Dimmock’s trained dog, Jurisdiction has also been doing a decent job recently. He has also shown that he has the speed and fitness to match others in the long distance events. Despite that, Head Iton Granty might have a slight
upper hand, considering his consistency.
Next two open races will be the 480 metres Swindon Arc Trial Stakes. The first one of them will see a tough competition, but A. Keppie’s trained dog, Ballymac Alver might end up on top, considering his recent performances.
Although the other greyhounds also have a good record, but it is a totally different thing to win an open race compared to the other grades.
The second Swindon Arc Trial Stakes open race is also expected to be a close one, as all the greyhounds participating in it are evenly matched. However, J. Houfton’s trained dog, Tinas Zodiac might have the edge over others.
The final open race of the day, Swindon January Monkey, will be a 509 metres event. It is expected to be dominated by Head Iton Hayesy, trained by S. Race. However, the favourite dog might get some tough time by the R. Jones trained b***h, Glenside
Pearl.
Overall, there will be plenty of excitement in the day and the bettors will be hoping to earn some good money at Swindon.
