Hi,

I am planning to travel to swiss for 6 days in first week of june 2007. I would be staying in luzern for 3 days and interlaken for 3 days and would be taking the panaromic express from interlaken to montreux and by train to geneva to catch flight.

I am plannin to visit mount pilatus, jungfrau and other places in and around where i am staying. But i am confused about the type of pass which i need to take. Swiss pass looks costly.

Is there any other alternative which i could do ?

Or is Swiss pass worth for these days and is a value add compared to other passes???

Could somebody suggest me which pass is more suitable for me?

Thanks in advance

  1. Check out the link for the swiss travel system.  Depending on your age, there are various passes available.  The swiss pass if definately worth it if you are travelling a lot and it gives discounts on cable cars and free entry to many, many museums in Switzerland.  My friend purchased a Swisspass this summer and was very happy with it.

There are other options, such as a half-price card for 99chf that gives you half price on all the trains and buses and some discounts for cable cars (but not all of them).

Perhaps a Swiss Flexi Pass would be better for you if you are only travelling on certain days.  You can buy it for example, for 3 days in one month.  But then you could only use it on these days.

A normal one-way ticket from Luzern to Interlaken costs 29chf and a one-way ticket from Interlaken to Geneva costs 63chf.

I think that the Swiss Pass is definately a good value.

  2. Swiss Pass from CFF/SBB, would be the best bet.
