Swiss man Roger Federer coaches participants at tennis village in UAE
Roger Federer of Switzerland spent one hour coaching fifteen participants, mostly aged thirteen years or under at the 2010 Mubadala World Tennis Championship. The event was mainly organized to encourage a healthy lifestyle amongst the residents of the United
Arab Emirates.
Federer goofed around, dancing and positioning his racket between his legs to return the tennis ball, so that the participants felt comfortable on court. Furthermore, the professional used simple techniques apart from having encouraged the players by praising
their shots.
Sporting a white Nike t-shirt, grey shorts, a yellow cap and yellow wrist bands, the sportsman took out time to speak to the players after he got through with the coaching. Roger recommended a pasta diet for the young participants. The maestro went on to say
that he travels to Dubai three months in a year and visits his friends in Abu Dhabi whenever he can. The Swiss man also stated that he celebrated New Years Eve with his family in Abu Dhabi last year.
Furthermore, the Swiss man added that there are still many things he would want to do as far as his plans for tennis are concerned. He said that he has clear career goals that he wants to achieve. In addition, Roger said that he loves to travel around and enjoys
meeting amazing fans and spending time with kids. "I just love my life," exclaimed Federer.
The legendary sportsman was particularly impressed by a 12-year-old player during the training sessions. Every time Adham Gabr faced Federer on court, he would joke around by saying "Oh he's trouble."
"Adham is a huge Federer fan. Today's the second time Adham meets Federer, but it's the first time he actually speaks with him. Federer pat him on the shoulder and told him that he has a great future in tennis," stated Adham's father, Hisham Gabr.
Gabr is presently ranked no. 3 at the Tennis Emirates and played under 12 tournaments all over UAE. Adham won a tournament last year in the UAE and was awarded a four-day trip to Paris to watch Federer play in the semi-finals.
