My husband and I will be traveling through Switzerland on a Swiss pass and would like to take the Golden Pass Panoramic from Lucerne to Montreux. My questions is, I'snt The Swiss pass covers the train to Montreux? I really appreciate for any help.

  1. you don't have to pay extra for the Golden Pass if you have Swiss Pass (unlike the Bernina or Glacier Express trains).  remember that regular trains also take the same route from Luzern to Montreux; they won't have the panoramic windows, but they do have windows that open so you can lean out.  it's personal preference really (though being able to open the windows also means better pictures without the glare).  when i took the Golden Pass, i just hopped on whatever came into the station.  you really shouldn't have to make reservations unless you have some special circumstance.

  3. Yep. Reservations are recommended though (required for groups) and that does cost a few extra francs (5 or 10 each).

SwissPass covers boats and museums too, so do check out the Chateau de Chillon.

  4. You need to call Rail Europe toll free at 1-877-456-RAIL in the U.S. or 1-800-361-RAIL in Canada.

"Goddess of Grammer" is right and you should visit the Chateau de Chillon if you can.
