Switch to collect the first victory of this season in the Grade 2 A Gleam Handicap
The five-year-old, Switch, holds an entry in the Grade 2, $200,000, A Gleam Handicap and here, she has an opportunity of demonstrating what she is really made of.

Hosted at the Betfair Hollywood Park and, covering a distance of seven furlongs, the mare will be aiming to trump all competition.
Trained by John Sadler, the older female, returned to the track after a lay-off of 7 months when she competed in the Desert Stormer at the same track on 17th
June, 2012 and finished fourth under rider Mike Smith over six furlongs.
Despite her incredible past performances, the runner hasn’t been in the right form her connections would wish her to be.

This race will give her an opportunity to make a comeback, since she is comfortable with the distance of seven furlongs.
Regarding her seasonal debut, Sadler commented:
“At least she’s dropping weight from her last race.”
He further stated: “She’s still giving weight away to everyone. She didn’t run that great last time, but she’s trained forwardly. And I like that there’s a lot of speed in the race.”
However, he looks optimistic about this race as he told the media that:
“Six furlongs is a little short for her. Hopefully, that race got her ready for the A Gleam. She’s doing well and I think this is a make or break race for her.”
The Kentucky bred runner will carry 122 pounds in this race, and the connections are hoping that she will return to her winning form and be her old self again.
If the daughter of Quiet American, foaled by mare Antoniette, succeeds in this race, she will automatically earn a spot in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, which covers the same distance of seven furlongs at Santa Anita Park on 2nd November,
2012.
Owned by CRK Stable, Switch’s last victory was in the Grade 1 Santa Monica Stakes at Santa Anita where she brought her swift pace forth and, successfully completed the seven furlong course in 1 minute and 20.70 seconds.
Now, the older division runner is to snap her losing streak and take home the money.
