  1. i did this 3 years ago and ice dancing has become my best friend i hurt my knee and so i couldnt really jumo that much but anyways say you spend 100% of time doing free style the drop it to 90% and do 10% in ice dancing 80/20, 70/30 ect. first get a coach then you will probably start working on the cumpulsorary dances and go to a few competitions but if you think ice skating revolves around jumps wait until you see how much ice dancing revolves around a partner good luck!

  2. i have the same issue.

    but i prefer figure still.

but thats me. the choice is all urs!

    good luck!

  3. I've been considering taking up dance too, but I don't want to completely dump freestyle.  If I were to switch, I would keep up with freestyle, set up a few dance lessons and try both for a reasonable amount of time.  If you decide you don't like dance, you can always go back to freestyle.  If you fall in love with dance, you can dump the freestyle.  Ask around and find a good dance coach.  It was recommended to me that being female, I get a male coach so that when I test, I don't have to find and/or pay a dance partner.  If anything, the dance will help your MIF and your freestyle.  Good luck!

  4. well, ice dancing is more focused on moves in the field. i don't think that ice dancing will come as a big challenge to you. just get an ice dancing coach and learn from there. the most important thing in ice dancing is the extensions, so nothing that you learn will be extremely new
