Switching Euro into US dollars?

How would I go about doing this? Can I go to a bank in the U.S. or Should I do it here in München before I leave (and if so where)? Is there a fee? About how much of a fee is it? thanks!

I would suggest you use your credit card if at all possible.  They give you the best rates, usually.  Get "traveler's checks" if you have cash you need to carry around with you.

You always do it at your arrivals airport. Fees are small, like in Europe.

US banks are very poor at exchanging currency.  Not like Europe at all, where it is commonplace.
